IBM India announced availability of iNotes on IBM Intranet (w3.ibm.com) in production. Although iNotes (Notes on the browser) has been available for quite sometime now, making it available in production to an employee base of 100,000+ is a significant leap. The moment it was announced, I accessed it and found it to be a great user experience. This was the first time, I accessed my emails using a browser. Delivering such a rich functionality inside the browser is'nt easy. Kudos to Notes and Domino developer team who made this happen- and yes the IT teams in India who made it to production. With this, expect that the configuration for the primary workstations / laptop will stay stable at 1GB/2GB RAM for a while now. Great relief to IT teams who juggle with the IT budgets and ever rising resource needs - RAM in particular.
